yeah, america!

Hope you all have had a great holiday weekend. Mine was amazing and it finally felt like summer for the first time. For this Memorial Day weekend I spent it with friends and new friends, visiting Chelsea Piers, indulging in hot dogs, lemonade, ice cream, hanging out on rooftops and running around the city even though it was insanely humid and hot. I actually prefer it over cold weather any day and a little sweat isn't going to stop us from having fun!

"paris is the most beautiful!"

Last Wednesday Kelsey and I finally got together to catch up. I showed her my neighborhood and we ended up walking around for hours. We went for coffee, talked about our lives and girl things, picked up some brownies from Magnolia Bakery and even met a new French friend. Kelsey took all these lovely photos of our day and I also wanted to share them!

We walked through Christopher St., which is becoming one of my favorites for late afternoon strolls.

The small park nearby.

New friend Ines and Kelsey. We met Ines when she approached us for directions to Magnolia Bakery while we were chatting away on a bench. We ran into her on the streets again soon later after craving sweets too and exchanged numbers. What's funny is that we ran into her a third time and helped her look for Carrie Bradshaw's apartment! She's so lively! I remember her telling us how the area reminded her of the streets in Paris and I was saying how beautiful Paris must be but she said, "Paris is the most beautiful!" Ines is staying in New York for the summer as well and coincidentally, will be moving in my neighborhood at the end of May. Hooray!

sunny saturday.

Guess what was in my mailbox? My mom is the sweetest and thought my room was a little lonely so she sent me a cute package of mini succulents and cactuses! I have a huge obsession for all kinds of flowers and plants and want my room filled with them.

The weather has been cold and rainy for the past week but the sun came out today. I spent my entire Saturday venturing and getting lost in the beautiful streets of my neighborhood to West Village. There's a number of quaint cafes, restaurants and bookstores I discovered on the way and jotted them down in my notebook under the "must check out later" section. This crazy section is about eight pages already and I'm sure it's never going to end.

Saturday playlist:
Going Up The Country by Kitty, Daisy & Lewis
Spanish Stroll by Mink De Ville
Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Skeletons by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

lauren moffatt fall 2012.

photos from refinery 29

Lauren Moffatt is one of my favorite designers and I can't help falling head over heels for this collection, it just makes me happy. I love the mixture of a classic palette with playful patterns and each piece has its own quirky, feminine twist. Heavens, the polka dot sweater with a mustard collar tip and the grid a-line skirt with big buttons are fantastic. Everything is also so wearable and I wish I had the entire collection in my wardrobe! I really wouldn't mind channeling the innocent schoolgirl look everyday for the rest of my life.

first day.

Quick, short post to share that I'm finally settled in New York. I live in Greenwich Village and I really love it, the neighborhood is gorgeous! I spent my first day exploring, running errands and then met up with Kelsey, Ben and Ade for burgers at Shake Shack.

moving to...

After months of saving and planning, I'm making a big leap and moving to New York for the summer! I could dance, skip, shout, cry of happiness     because I'll be living there for a whole three months in just five days. I'm getting an amazing opportunity to intern for BPMW and my job is transferring me! Everything still sounds unreal and I'm a bit nervous, but I've never been so ready.

I went to New York for the first time last May and it only took that one time to make me fall in love completely. It's the most exciting place I've ever been to and it's where I want to build my career, my life, myself. There's this never-ending feeling of motivation you get when you're in the city – you feel unstoppable. It really is a wonderful place to be in and I'm in utter bliss that I'm going to be a part of it. I wish this move was permanent but since I'm still just a sophomore in college, three months is perfectly enough (for now). I can't wait to leave soon and I can't wait to truly experience everything this dream city has to offer.
